Last night I went to the midnight showing of New Moon in Leicester Square London, and well… let’s just say it was interesting.

So to start off with, I am a (just) 16 year old girl from London; I am a massive massive Harry Potter Fan. I genuinely think I know the most trivia in the world about it! Seriously! I get told off every Physics lesson for making a wand out of wooden splints and dancing round the classroom shouting EXPECTO PATRONUM.

So apart from being a Harry Potter fan I am of course a Twilight fan. I’m not into all that screaming ‘ahhh ohhh my goshhh Robert Pattinson bite me’ thing, yeah he really good looking, but of course when I first started reading the books, I barely even knew him as Cedric Diggory.

So I finished reading the Twilight Saga about 3 years ago, and today November 20th New Moon came out in the cinema’s, and this is what happened when I went to the midnight showing:

THE SAGA
So about 3 weeks ago I booked tickets to see the midnight showing of New Moon in Leicester Square with a mate, let’s call her…Raptor. I only realised 2 nights ago, that legally you actually have to be over 18 to go to the cinema past 10.30pm, but did that stop us? NO!

So our countdown began at school about 14 days ago, this countdown included cutting out tiny squares of paper and writing the amount of days to go and sticking them on every person’s locker in our year every morning, squealing in very many lessons, and discussing trivial things that could never actually happen such as, what if the midnight showing is just the cast acting it out! Wow!

So last night at 11.10 we left Raptor’s house on the way to the cinema. I was not allowed to wear any of the clothes that I had intended to wear as apparently I was ‘embarrassing’.

So we were dropped off very near the Vue cinema and walking towards we were badgered by those irritating night club ticket giver out people, so we thought hey they think we look old enough! This is actually going well!

We were met with a sight of TOTAL chaos!! It was actually packed! Luckily having pre booked our tickets we just had to go to one of those cute little machines and pick up our tickets. I might just add that lots of people were obviously under 18, so it looked like we would be alright. But next it was the popcorn queue, which was about as large as a whale!! But we couldn’t go in without popcorn! That just defeats the point of cinema!

So whilst being in the queue, we hear that the screen we were booked into had already opened its doors, and the people flocking in was quite worrying as we didn’t know if we could have seats.

We got the popcorn, and being the complete ninnimuggins I am, I of course dropped half of it in my excitement to get into the screen. But finally… WE WERE THROUGH THE DOORS!

But wait! I needed the toilet! I am such a nightmare to go to the cinema with! We queued for the toilet and eventually we went into the screen!

Oh dear…

it was full! And when I say full I mean nowhere to sit but at all! But we made do! We sat on the floor, we sat down with our coats as cushions, and silly Raptor knocked over her drink!! But we were in! We didn’t care!

Now I’m just going to add, that I am not one of those girls who cries, I have never ever ever ever ever cried at a movie in my life, so I was thoroughly un prepared for what met me.

Admittedly the film had already started, and we were met with the image of Bella and Edward in a cute little discussion at the back of the classroom! I saw Edward and yes… I started crying a little bit! The atmosphere in the cinema was absolutely amazing, it was completely like a pantomime, of course there was a huge cheer, obviously led by me, when we got our first glimpse of a topless Taylor, and how did he do that!!!! It’s quite funny seeing his amazing abbs next to Rob’s little painted on muscles!

So I officially got laughed at during the performance, it’s not my fault I screamed when Alice pops out of nowhere, and it’s not my fault my drink spilt as well!

I literally did not stop crying the whole way through! This is odd as, as I said above I have never cried in a movie. It was quite surreal; I will try to explain why. I have watched Twilight so many times that I feel I know the characters so well, and seeing them in a new setting that I didn’t know what could happen on screen next really confused me! BUT IT WAS SO EXCITING!!!!

So on the film went, there was the perfect amount of suspense, mixed with some well chosen violence and an altogether amazing script. Dakota Fanning playing Jane was unreal; she is completely perfect for it!!! I literally cannot explain how haywire my reactions were for the film, I hit the lady next to me at one point. I got such big evils from her.

The last line rang out Mr Cullen’s face, and just when I thought I had no more tears left OH NO a fresh wave of tears began.

I walked out of the screen and for some odd reason I could not control the volume of my voice, it’s odd to say, but the only three words I could say was oh my God!

Every single person passing me started laughing at me, and I did not realise why until I passed a mirror. PANDA TO THE EXTREME! Makeup everywhere!! But I did not care! I had finally seen New Moon!

But did the adventure stop there nooo wayy!

At the bottom of the escalator just in front of a massive New Moon billboard I film crew was set up, and a lady said ‘can I interview someone about the film’ so of course I shouted ‘yes! me!!!!’ I ran over knocking full grown men flying. My hair was a massive bee hive from the amount of times I had run my hands through it and yes I still had panda eyes. I was clutching a jacket, a jumper and a coat, in my arms, and next to the perfectly groomed interviewer I looked like a right goose!
But still! I was on telly being interviewed about the film I was so passionate about.

I won’t tell you what I said in the interview as it is too embarrassing for words, don’t worry I didn’t declare my love for Rob, I’m not like that, although I may have mentioned that I wanted my own Edward Cullen.

But amidst the flurry of confusing answers I remembered saying in an answer to ‘will you see the film again’ ‘YES I plan to see it at least 12 times in the cinema’

Which leads me to the end of this starting blog
I will post a blog after every New Moon showing I go to, which may sound boring, but believe me! I have never been on a journey without something weird happening!

Taking a tube journey example that happened about three years ago. There I was sitting very comfortably on a little seat, when Dev Patel from skins/slum dog millionaire walks in! I was quite excited about this, so I got out my phone and on the context of checking a text I secretly took a picture of him reading the metro……The flash went off
